SavvyHomeSavings.com believes in being upfront about how the site makes money. This page explains exactly what affiliate links are, where they appear, and how they affect what we cover.
Amazon Associates
SavvyHomeSavings.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
What that means in plain English: when you click a link to Amazon from this site and then make a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a small commission. Your price does not change. The cost of the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin, not your wallet.
Other Affiliate Programs
From time to time we may participate in additional affiliate or referral programs (for example, retailer-specific programs for hardware stores, gardening suppliers, or kitchen-goods sellers). Whenever a link in a post is an affiliate link, the post itself or the surrounding context will make that clear, and the link is set to rel="sponsored nofollow" in the HTML.
How We Decide What to Recommend
Affiliate revenue is a way to keep the lights on — it is not the reason a particular product appears on the site. Our editorial process puts the recommendation first and the link second:
- We pick a topic or product category we think is genuinely useful for our readers.
- We evaluate available products against the criteria that matter for that category — durability, fit, value, real-world performance.
- If a product earns a recommendation, we then check whether a relevant affiliate program exists, and if so we link through it.
- If a product is the best pick but no affiliate program exists, we still recommend it — and link directly to the manufacturer or retailer with no commission attached.
We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews. We do not accept payment to bury a critical review. We do not allow sponsors to dictate editorial coverage.
FTC Disclosure
This site complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. Any post that contains affiliate links includes a clearly identifiable disclosure, either in the introduction or in the body of the post.
Display Advertising
In addition to affiliate links, the site displays advertising through Google AdSense and other ad networks. Those ads are separate from our editorial content. For details on the data those networks collect and how to opt out of personalized advertising, see our Privacy Policy.
